Judith of Bethulia First edition. A trifle edgeworn, still easily fine in a very good example of the very uncommon printed dustwrapper with small splits, nicks, and tears. An epic dramatic poem that was the basis for two films, most importantly D.W. Griffith's 1914 version, which was his first feature length film, the first of his "epics," and the film that laid the groundwork for his future spectaculars. The budget shocked the Biograph film company, and Griffith was soon let go, to the eventual benefit of all of filmdom. Exceptionally uncommon in jacket. [BTC #83431] |
