WESCOTT, Glenway

Images of Truth: Remembrances and Criticism

First edition. Fine in near fine dustwrapper with a couple of short tears on the front panel. Nicely Inscribed by the author in the year of publication, apparently at the behest of his brother: "For Roger H. McDonough from Lloyd Wescott inscribed by the author, with appreciative best wishes, Glenway Wescott. August 28, 1962." Lloyd Wescott's calling card laid in. Novelist Wescott reflects on lifelong friends and contemporaries Katherine Anne Porter, W. Somerset Maugham, Colette, Thomas Mann, Thornton Wilder and Isak Dinesen. The recipient, Roger H. McDonough, served as Director of the New Jersey State Library, and served a term as president of the American Library Association.
