A World Destroyed: The Atomic Bomb and the Grand Alliance First edition. Fine in near fine dustwrapper with the spine lettering very slightly sunned, and very slight age-toning. Nicely Inscribed by the author: "To Rob Socolow(?), Who has already made a major contribution to Oppenheimer. With best wishes & gratitude. Marty Oct. 1978." The inscription acknowledges help on a book that didn't appear for another twenty-seven years. Sherwin's biography of Oppenheimer, American Prometheus, co-written with Kai Bird, did not appear until 2005. [BTC #82920] |
