Nicely Inscribed by the author: "To Rob Socolow(?), Who has already made a major contribution to Oppenheimer. With best wishes & gratitude. Marty Oct. 1978." The inscription acknowledges help on a book that didn't appear for another twenty-seven years. Sherwin's biography of Oppenheimer, American Prometheus, co-written with Kai Bird, did not appear until 2005.
