A Streetcar Named Desire [jacket title: A Street Car Named Desire]

New York: New Directions, 1947.

Sold

Hardcover. First edition. Owner name on the front fly neatly marked over, bottom of the boards a little rubbed, still about fine in a bright, near fine dustwrapper with slight (but less than usual) fading to the spine, and a little offsetting and a small stain on the rear panel. Pulitzer Prize-winning drama highspot, basis for innumerable revivals and an explosive Elia Kazan film featuring Marlon Brando, Vivien Leigh, Karl Malden, and Kim Hunter. Ironically, Brando, in his signature performance, was the only one of the quartet who didn't win an Oscar. A lovely copy.
