Modest toning on cloth spine and tiny smudge on front board, else fine in very good plus dustwrapper with spine tanned and rubbed, and tiny nicks at the spine ends. German novel about a rape of a local woman by GIs in Postwar Germany, basis for the interesting 1961 film directed by Gottfried Reinhardt, and featuring Kirk Douglas and E.G. Marshall, and which might be best remembered for its title song sung by Gene Pitney.
