The Goose Woman and Other Stories

New York: Harper & Brothers, 1925.

Price: $500.00

Hardcover. First edition. Finish of the binding is a bit worn, a near very good copy in a near very good, price-clipped dustwrapper with publisher's printed label affixed to the front panel stating: "'The Michigan Kid' Rex Beach's Best Known Story is included in this volume," with several internally repaired, modest tears at the extremities. "The Michigan Kid" was filmed twice – in 1928 directed by Irvin Willat, and featuring Renée Adorée, Fred Esmelton, Virginia Grey, and Conrad Nagel in the title role; and again in 1947 directed by Ray Taylor, and featuring Jon Hall in the title role, along with Rita Johnson, Victor McLaglen, and Andy Devine. Additionally, the title story, *The Goose Woman* was also filmed twice: once in 1925 directed by Clarence Brown with Louise Dresser, Jack Pickford, and Constance Bennett; and again in 1933 as *The Past of Mary Holmes* with Helen MacKellar, Eric Linden, and Jean Arthur.
