The Pledge First American edition. Endpapers a bit foxed, else fine in a very good dustwrapper with the spine sunned and a few nicks and scrapes. A murder-suspense novel by the great Swiss dramatist, who co-wrote the screenplay for the German film version with Gert Frobe as the killer (released in the U.S as It Happened in Broad Daylight). Much later the basis for the underrated Sean Penn film starring Jack Nicholson as the obsessed lawman. [BTC #71247] |
