George Grosz 1893-1959 Exhibition catalogue. Square octavo. Self-wrappers. Illustrated, with text in German. A couple of scrapes and a small hole on the front wrap else very good plus. Inscribed by author Henry Miller to his former wife June Mansfield: "For June from Henry, Berlin 23/10/62." Though Miller and Mansfield, who was the inspiration and impetus for most of his major works, divorced in 1934, they remained close for decades and he continued to send her copies of his books, and books of authors and artists that they both admired. Miller wrote the introduction to the Grove Press American edition of Grosz's Ecce Homo. [BTC #68862] |
