First edition. Quarto. Gilt-ruled and decorated red straight-grained morocco, all edges gilt. Armorial bookplate of Sir Robert D'Arcy Hildyard on the front pastedown, rear joint starting, a few small dark spots to the back cover and occasional spots of foxing within. 100 finely accomplished hand-colored plates done from drawings by Howitt, Atkinson, Clark, Manskirch, and others illustrate these tales of sport and hunting, with another 10 plates contained in the supplementary work on the field sports of New South Wales. A beautiful, bright copy, attractively bound. Tooley 224.
