War Bugs First edition. Slight stains on the endpapers, still about fine in a lightly soiled and price-clipped, near fine dustwrapper. The unexpurgated version of MacArthur's memoir of the First World War, previously published in 1919 in a much edited, "official" version. MacArthur was a denizen of the Algonquin Round Table, probably best known for his collaborations with Ben Hecht, including the stage hits The Front Page, Twentieth Century, and Ladies and Gentlemen. MacArthur was married to Helen Hayes, and in the 1930s was also a successful screenwriter and director. A very nice copy. [BTC #65181] |
