VAN DRUTEN, John

I Remember Mama: A Play in Two Acts

First edition. Fine in very good plus dustwrapper with some modest overall soiling. Adapted from Kathryn Forbes' book Mama's Bank Account, the play was the basis for the 1948 George Stevens film with Irene Dunne as Mama. Dunne, Oskar Homolka, Barbara Bel Geddes, and Ellen Corby were all nominated for acting Academy Awards; none of them won. Homolka reprised his role from the original theatrical production, which also featured Marlon Brando in a lesser role.
