How To Play Baseball First edition. Endpapers foxed else fine in an attractive, very good plus dustwrapper with a few short tears. Inscribed by the author: "For Charles Segar -- With appreciation, and the hope he'll like these suggestions for small boys! From M.G. Bonner. 14th March -- 1955." The recipient, Charlie Segar, was a baseball writer for the Brooklyn Citizen. In the 1920s he was the director of the Baseball Writers' Association. He later served seventeen years as the Secretary-Treasurer of Major League Baseball, mostly under another former sportswriter, Commissioner Ford Frick. [BTC #55155] |
