Varney (turn of the century kite expert and subject of an article in the January, 1895 issue of the New England Historical and Geneological Journal), else a fresh, near fine copy with light wear at the extremities, slight foxing, and the usually well-rubbed applied pictorial front panel plate in nice condition. A romance novel by Baum using the Staunton pseudonym. A very scarce title.
