Postcard of the 1911 St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Team

Original photographic postcard. Approximately 5.5" by 3.5". Fine. Penciled note on the verso states "Train Wreck, Bridgeport, Conn. Cardinals: 1911." A small rubberstamp, also on the verso, indicates that copies of this card can be had from a book store in Bridgeport. Thirteen ballplayers in short sleeves and in some cases ties, sit behind what appears to be some mangled metal, presumably from the aforementioned train wreck, although personally they seem none the worse for wear. Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan is easily identifiable on the far right of the photo, and we think we can identify Miller Huggins, but a greater baseball scholar than ourselves is necessary to identify the others. Scarce.
