First American edition. Delicate green dyes in the boards moderately faded, else fine in fine dustwrapper with very minor rubbing. Victorian-era mystery featuring a young woman, the paid companion of an older woman, who is involved in a poisoning. Shearing was the pseudonym of the novelist Marjorie Bowen. A lovely copy.
