Sad Dust Glories

Berkeley, California: The Workingmans Press, 1975.

Price: $250.00

Softcover. Second edition. Illustrated stapled wrappers. Fine. Inscribed: "for Elbert Lenrow [poems written] during [work summer] 1974 Allen Ginsberg 1979 I'll try to visit this Spring when I return from [unreadable]." Lenrow was a professor at the New School who became friends with Jack Kerouac while he was still a student. Kerouac in turn introduced him to Allen Ginsberg and Neal Cassidy, who would often gather at Lenrow's Central Park West apartment for informal discussions about life and literature. He later penned a book about his friendship with Kerouac and remained in contact with Ginsberg until Lenrow's death in 1993. A nice association.
