First Edition. Fine in lightly age-toned, fine dustwrapper. One of 1000 numbered copies, this is copy #166 and is Signed by the author. Toomer's second book, and first novel, Cane, was the first book of the Harlem Renaissance. Our observation based on copies of this title that we have seen is that relatively few were actually signed and distributed at the time of publication, and that the vast majority of copies were either destroyed, or languished in warehouses until after Toomer's death.
