Three of a Kind Fourth printing. Fine, lacking the dustwrapper. Nicely Inscribed by the author in the year of publication: "To Lili: Who is certainly getting a fine collection of Cain. Jim. Westwood, Calif. Dec. 13, 1944." Three short novels: Career in C Major, The Embezzler and Double Indemnity. The first was filmed in 1939 as Wife, Husband and Friend and then in 1949 as Everybody Does It, both produced and scripted by Nunnally Johnson. The final novella was made into the classic 1944 Billy Wilder film with Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson, with a script by Wilder and Raymond Chandler. [BTC #39559] |
