[Broadside calendar]: Utica Daily Press

Utica, New York: Utica Daily Press, 1900.

Sold

Unbound. Broadside. Measuring 11" x 14". Printed card stock with staple-attached calendar for 1901. Staples rusted, else very near fine. The broadside depicts the front page of the paper with three images of cute African-American children superimposed (one of a girl in a sunbonnet, one of a boy in a bowler hat, and one of them together) with monthly calendar attached and a brass grommet at the top for hanging purposes. Apparently during this period calendars began to supersede "Carriers' Addresses"( that is, broadside poems printed by newspapers to express appreciation of their readers and render holiday greetings as promotional giveaways). *OCLC* locates no copies.
