Essentials First Edition. Fine in a lightly age-toned, near fine dustwrapper. One of 1000 numbered copies, this is copy #90 and is Signed by the author. Toomer's second book, his novel, The Cane, was the first book of the Harlem Renaissance. Our observation based on copies of this title that we have seen is that relatively few copies were actually signed and distributed at the time of publication, and that the vast majority of copies languished in warehouses, unsigned, until after Toomer's death.
