The translator, Scottish drama critic William Archer, had much to do with introducing Ibsen to the English-speaking public. Although the play had been translated into English earlier as *Nora*, it was Archer's translation that solidified the reputation of Ibsen in England. A lovely copy of this classic, perhaps the best known play by one of the world's greatest dramatists. Basis for several films, including two 1973 versions, one with Claire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins, the other with Jane Fonda and David Warner.
