Hint of rubbing at the corners, endpapers a little foxed and stain to the top of two page, else near fine in very good dustwrapper with rubbing, modest chipping at the spine ends and foxing to the interior. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Peter Taylor's copy Inscribed to him (and his wife, the National Book Award-nominated poet Eleanor Ross Taylor) by Lowell using his nickname: "For Peter and Eleanor with love from Cal." Lowell and Taylor were very close friends and colleagues and were influential on each other's careers. They both attended Kenyon College where they were roommates and studied under Allen Tate and John Crowe Ransom. Lowell's second book and first trade publication, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize, and includes the poem: "To Peter Taylor on the Feast of the Epiphany." A splendid association copy.
