Prix Goncourt-winning novel, about an Italian-American who is elected Mayor of New York, only to run into trouble with Sicilian mafioso. Basis for the Italian film Dementicare Palarmo (or The Palermo Plot) which featured Jim Belushi, Mimi Rogers, and Vittorio Gassman.
