Hardcover. First edition. Very good in very good dustwrapper that has been reinforced internally with masking tape causing the jacket to adhere to the boards. Warmly Inscribed by the Roman Catholic Cardinal of New York City to "John and Mrs. McCormack" (of John McCormacks there are many, but this is possibly to the great Irish tenor, who was a devoted Catholic – to the point of being named a Papal Count, had an apartment in New York, and died in 1944).
