ASQUITH, Mary

We Actor Folk: The Story of An Ugly Actress

First edition. Vertical crease on the front fly and a discreet stain to both the front board and (primarily to the black section of) the front panel of the jacket, else near fine in very good plus dustwrapper. A novel, mostly about theatre but with some film elements as well. Asquith was a noted stage actress who also wrote stories that were the basis for two silent films. She appeared top-billed (above Ethel Barrymore) in the silent film Life's Shop Window. Probably the greatest book ever to be published in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania.
