Partially Printed Ship's Document Signed Partially printed vellum ship's document Signed by Thomas Jefferson as President. Approximately 15.5" x 10.5". Two nautical vignettes at top. A pass for the 270 ton American ship Tiger out of Philadelphia sailing under Master Samuel Clark, and dated 2 June 1808. Countersigned by James Madison as Secretary of State. Slight foxing, and a little wrinkled, a pleasing near fine example. Paper seal fine and Jefferson's signature is slightly faded, but easily readable. [BTC #292140] |
