First edition (the New Zealand edition). A re-order or possibly review slip tipped to the rear free endpaper else fine in fine dustwrapper with a faint creased line on the front panel. Ihimaera was reportedly the first published Maori novelist and certainly the most prominent. This work for young adults, in particular, received international attention when it was adapted into the 2002 film of the same name starring Keisha Castle-Hughes, who was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
