Unbound. 7 3/4" x 4 1/2". Engraving by J. Chamberlin based on a sculpture by J. Cook. Very slight wear and discoloration. Samuel Chandler was a nonconformist minister and bookseller. In 1716 Chandler was chosen minister of the Presbyterian congregation at Peckham. The loss of his wife's fortune forced him to open a bookshop. Chandler published the substance of his discourses, in answer to *Collins's Grounds and Reasons*, in 1725.
