Early reprint. A poor copy with chipping at the crown, lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by the author: "For the Mullany Ladies - This one's been around a long time. Love, James Jones. Paris 7 December 1973 (32 years later)." Jones' writing skill surpassed his math skill, as the book was inscribed 22, not 32, years later. The author's first novel, winner of the National Book Award and basis for the Academy Award-winning film with Burt Lancaster, Deborah Kerr, Montgomery Clift, Donna Reed and Frank Sinatra.
