First edition. Near fine in a nice, very good or better dustwrapper with some small chips at the extremities and a little tanning to the white parts of the spine. Laid in is an Autograph Letter Signed by Toklas in 1960, reporting that she has no Stein books to sell, and recommending a New York bookstore. Envelope is present. Stein ghost wrote her companion's "autobiography" so that she could speak more glowingly of her own genius without compromising her modesty. An increasingly scarce book.
