Very good minus with front hinge cracked and half-title page loose, newspaper clippings glued inside covers and on endpapers, a pamphlet by John P. Snigg glued on to one of the rear endpapers, corners and spine ends lightly worn and bumped with an inscription on the half-title page "To the Vachel Lindsay Association from Elizabeth B. Ide",. Elizabeth B. Ide was a friend of the author and she and her husband Frank are acknowledged in the front of "A Handy Guide of Beggars". Elizabeth B. Ide was also a distant relative of Mary Todd Lincoln. A letter is tipped-in to Mrs. Ide from Ralph L. Schroeder.
