The Pledge First American edition. Owner's name on the front fly, a trifle rubbed at the foot of the spine, near fine in a very good dustwrapper with the spine a little sunned and a few small nicks and tears. A murder-suspense novel by the great Swiss dramatist, who co-wrote the screenplay for the German film version with Gert Frobe as the killer (released in the U.S as It Happened in Broad Daylight). Much later the basis for the underrated Sean Penn film starring Jack Nicholson as the obsessed lawman. [BTC #275751] |
