Broadside: Thirty-Fourth Annual Celebration Negro History Week February 8-15, 1959. Theme: "Negro History -- A Foundation for a Proud America 81/2" x 11". Stiff cardstock printed both sides in black and grey tones. Three small tack holes, a couple small stains, near fine. On the verso appears a collage of portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Carter G. Woodson and Mary McLeod Bethune, along with the announcement of the celebration, on the recto, an explanation of the Association's goals and accomplishments. Eventually Negro History Week expanded to the entire month of February. Very scarce. [BTC #25661] |
