Appears First American edition with Scribner's "A" present, but Hubin lists a 1942 Scribner's edition as well, possibly a revised edition. Very attractive mystery theme bookplate, cocked and with some light wear, a very good or better copy in a very good plus dustwrapper with rubbing at the edges of the spine and some overall light soiling. Murder at a London dressmaking firm. Inscribed by the author: "Signed for dear Gertrude with all love from Christianna Brand, La Jolla 1978."
