James Van Der Zee

First edition. Edited by Liliane De Cock and Reginald McGhee. Introduction by Reginia A. Perry. Fine in two variant dustwrappers, one cream and one white, the latter fine with very light tape stains on the flaps, the former near fine with a small scrape on the spine. A lovely copy of this retrospective of the work of the pioneer black photographer. Van DerZee was born in Lenox, Massachusetts, three years after his parents moved there from New York, where they worked as maid and butler to President Ulysess S. Grant.
