Item Info

HORNUNG, E.W.

Mr. Justice Raffles

First American edition. Bump to the topedge of the front board, rubbing at the spinal extremities, and an ink number on the front fly, a very good copy. Basis for the 1921 film directed by and starring Gerald Ames, with what today would be considered a decidedly anti-Semitic storyline as the gentleman thief helps a young woman escape the clutches of a stereotypical Jewish usurer (played by James Carew, husband of stage legend Ellen Terry).
