First edition. Slight paper remnant on the rear board, still fine in lightly rubbed, near fine and attractively designed dustwrapper. An interesting and possibly autobiographical novel, at least in part aimed at young people, about the only Jewish boy in a rough city neighborhood who has to defend himself and other Jews. His tenacity results in his becoming a local football hero, and eventually he ends up in the center of the action at the Battle of the Argonne Forest in the First World War. Uncommon.
