First edition. Offsetting to the endpapers from the flaps, some light mottling to the boards, a very good copy in very good plus dustwrapper with some tiny nicks and slight wear. The third and last of the author's Pulitzer Prize winning plays, about a Finnish scientist and his family and what befalls them in their embattled country. This copy Inscribed by the author: "for Lowell Thomas, Jr. with every good wish from Robert Sherwood. December 1940." Whether this is inscribed to the famous journalist and travel writer, or to his son is not clear.
