Inscribed by Hansen to fellow author Nicholas Delbanco and his wife: "For Nick and Elena in appreciation for your friendship and admiration. Affectionately, Ron Hansen." Author's second novel, and basis for the acclaimed Andrew Dominik film starring Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, and Sam Shepard. Allegedly Pitt insisted that the factual novel retain its somewhat ungainly title for the film version.
