McALMON, Robert

The Portrait of a Generation

First edition. Fine in French-folded wrappers, in a chipped, original unprinted glassine sleeve. McAlmon was the founder of Contact Editions which published James Joyce, Ezra Pound, and several others, including Ernest Hemingway's first book. He was at the center of expatriate life and helped to support various struggling artists and writers in that tumultuous time. One of 200 copies, the sleeve is pretty nearly impossible to find.
